Ed Sheeran and his longtime sweetheart Cherry Seaborn have reportedly tied the knot.
Per reports from The Sun, the singer and his fiancee exchanged their "I dos" in a secret wedding at their home in Suffolk, England, in December 2018. The newlyweds apparently invited no more than 40 friends and family to witness their nuptials — none of which, however, were of celebrity status.
“Ed got married a few days before Christmas. It was very quiet – just Ed’s oldest school pals, limited family and the priest," an insider told the publication of the "Shape of You" star's marriage.
“There were only 40 people – so no Taylor Swift, record company executives or any royals or pop star pals. He wanted no fuss and he wanted it to be something entirely for them – just a tiny winter wedding," the source continued, adding, “Neither of them were that fussed about making a big deal about it. Cherry just wanted to get it out of the way without any problems or intrusions.”
Sheeran and Seaborn had been childhood classmates before their romance blossomed into something more. Last January, the couple announced they'd become engaged in December 2017.
The pair's private ceremony should also come as no surprise. Last August, when it was wrongly assumed the 28-year-old and his fiancee had gotten hitched, Sheeran expressed his ideal wedding would be much more close-knit than Royal Wedding-esque. "I don't like large groups of people at the best of times," he explained last August, "So I never wanted a wedding that was loads of people."
Congrats, Ed and Cherry!
