A Virginia woman was arrested after an officer found her staggering down the street carrying a suitcase full of cats. 43-year-old Shanna Holwager told the officer that she was bringing the cats to a shelter run by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

The deputy wrote in his arrest report that he smelled alcohol on Holwager's breath and he noticed that she had bloodshot eyes and was slurring her speech. He took her into custody for public intoxication and brought her to Rappahannock Regional Jail where she was held until she sobered up. The cats were given to the Stafford County Animal Control.

Holwager was arrested again the following night after the same officer found her flailing her arms in the middle of the road. She was taken back to jail and released after she sobered up.
