Believe it or not, Maren Morris was once rejected from some of the most popular talent competitions on television and the country titan opened up about those experiences during her recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

After a caller asked the singer how she felt about being rejected from both American Idol and The Voice in the past, but still have her songs featured in current-day auditions, Morris did not hold back. "That's not even it," she explained. "I was rejected from, like, America's Got Talent. There were a ton that I didn't make it to. Thank God! People cover my songs for their auditions on those shows, so it's like, not only is it really nice to have my song on a national television show — but [also] get to collect the check and have some sweet revenge."

Cohen also got the juice on Morris' feature on Zedd and Grey's smash, "The Middle," considering that pop stars like Demi Lovato and Camila Cabello were also up for the spot on the track. "I came in very late in the game, so I don't know all the singers that auditioned to be on it. But I do know that Demi and Camila, they chose other songs to do at that time. So it wasn't like Zedd rejected them," she diplomatically explained. "They're huge stars."

For now, Morris is focused on the release of her sophomore album, Girl, which took to the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart dated March 23. For its debut week, the set earned 46,000 equivalent album units (25,000 in traditional album sales), according to Nielsen Music. "I am blown away by the support this last week," Morris recently told Billboard of the accomplishment. "My fans were already screaming the lyrics at the show the day after the album came out. I am so shocked and thankful to have broken this record for country music."
