Ultra Music Festival's Day 1 Was So Bad People Are Calling It 'Fyre Fest 2'

At least there was food...
Ultra Music Festival got off to a rocky start on Friday (March 31) after the event's first day on Virginia Key ended with a logistical meltdown. More than 50,000 concertgoers were forced to walk nearly three miles across a bridge, due to limited shuttles, to get rides around 2 a.m.
"2+ hrs of waiting for buses to pass by us either full or empty," one Twitter user explained. "Nobody [in] charge no barriers no nothing. Wow for my first #Ultra not looking at going next year."
Things got so bad many concertgoers began calling it "Fyre Festival 2," and even got the hashtag trending on Twitter. "Didn't know Ja Rule organized @ultra Miami this year. π #fyrefest2 #Ultra2019," a Twitter user jokingly wrote.
While the mishap was a quarter of the disaster that was Fyre Fest β that festival, if you can even call it that, left thousands stranded for days on a Bahamian island that barely had food or acceptable accommodations, and there was ZERO music β that didn't stop people from calling Ultra the latest music festival fail.
To top of the Fyre-like drama, an actual fire broke out during the festival. Many attendees captured footage of the Ultra blaze on social media, with many blaming the flames on fireworks.

Following backlash on social media, Ultra organizers addressed their transportation error on Twitter Saturday (March 30), calling it "unacceptable."
"Last night, many of you experienced challenging transportation conditions leaving the festival," read their statement. This is unacceptable and inconsistent with the high standards you have come to expect from us. For this, we are sorry."
"As you might expect, we have already been working cooperatively with our city and county partners to promptly address and resolve these issues," the statement continued. "We look forward to offering you a significantly improved transportation experience today and throughout the weekend, and we appreciate the opportunity to earn back your confidence and trust."
