A California EMT was arrested last week after police say he molested at least one child who was under the age of 14. Kevin Crane initially faced 98 charges and was being held on a $5.3 million bond.

When he was arraigned in Monterey County Superior Court, he was only charged with nine counts of child molestation, including one for continuous child molestation. Monterey County Chief Assistant District Attorney Berkley Brannon explained that continuous child molestation means that alleged abuse happened at least three times within a specific time period.

Crane pleaded not guilty to the charges and the judge lowered his bail to $500,000.

Crane was an EMT for American Medical Response and was placed on unpaid administrative leave when they learned of his arrest.
