A Lithuanian man booked the perfect flight to Italy for a weekend ski trip. When Skirmantas Strimaitis arrived at the airport, he learned that he was the only passenger who bought a ticket for the flight between Vilnius, Lithuania and Bergamo, Italy.

Strimaitis boarded the Boeing 737, which has a seating capacity of 188 people, and took a selfie with the empty seats behind him. He then stowed his bag, sat down and enjoyed the peaceful two-hour journey.

"I was provided with a personal pre-flight safety demonstration," Strimaitis told CNN Travel. "Then I just enjoyed the flight by taking selfies and writing. To have silence on a plane was very unusual. I was smiling all day."

Strimaitis got lucky because the plane had been chartered by a tour group to fly some clients from Bergamo to Vilnius. The company did not want to fly an empty plane for the return trip, so they put one-way tickets up for sale, and Strimaitis was the only person to buy one.
