Normani Gushes On Girl Time With Ariana Grande During 'Sweetener Tour'

Normani is having the most fun with Ariana Grande while opening for her "Sweetener World Tour."

In an exclusive chat with PEOPLE, the "Dancing With a Stranger" songbird says despite having known the 25-year-old for a "very long time," there's hardly ever been a time when the two could "be normal, and really enjoy each other" given their busy careers. But ever since the 22-year-old embarked on Grande's jaunt, which opened last month, Normani says they've been making the most of their bonding time — and it's as fun as you'd imagine.

“We wear face masks, wake up really late, have breakfast, that kind of jam … just typical girls!” Normani gushed to the pub on her friendship with the "Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored" artist. “I feel like she’s had an incredible year, especially going through as much as she has. The way that she’s handled things, not only as an artist, but as a woman — I think she’s the definition of resilience,” she adds of her friend's big year so far, likening their girl time on the road as "a sleepover on wheels."

Sleepovers seem to be one of the "Love Lies" musician's favorite ways to bond with her gal pals. Earlier this year, the "Waves" soloist dished to Billboard how she and former Fifth Harmony members Camila Cabello and Dinah Jane were all invited to an overnight bash at the "7 Rings" singer's pad some time ago. “We went to her house she was the first person to introduce me to vegan ice cream,” Normani reminisced of the slumber party.

Right now, Normani and Grande are still on the road, with double "Sweetener World Tour" concert dates set for Coachella this month, plus more stops in cities like Portland, Las Angeles and Vegas ahead.
