Dierks Bentley and Brandi Carlile brought the blues to the 2019 Academy of Country Music Awards. On Sunday (April 7), the country crooner and three-time Grammy-winning songbird performed their catchy tune "Travelin' Light," bringing fans to their feet for an enthusiastic sing-along.

The upbeat, bluegrass record, which concerns forgiveness for one's own mistakes and becoming unburdened by past griefs, features assisted vocals from Carlile and appears on Bentley's latest album, The Mountain. During their duet, the crooner sings along to the rhythms of his acoustic guitar as the "Joke" musician adds her signature, twangy trills to make for a toe-tapping performance.

Ahead of tonight's show, Carlile expressed the makings behind the track, revealing in an interview that Dierks "had an epiphany moment out there on the mountain - like so many of us do - and decided to write a song about forgiveness.”

The "Drunk on a Plane" star was also in the running for four honors at the awards ceremony, eventually bringing home the trophy for Music Event of the Year for “Burning Man" with Brothers Osborne.
