Lovelytheband Performs 'Broken' With American Idol's Wade Cota: Watch

On Monday (April 8) lovelytheband helped kick off American Idol's all-star duets week with Wade Cota. The trio performed "Broken" with the contestant, who gave the song an added element while harmonizing with singer Mitchy Collins.

After the performance, judges Katy Perry and Lionel Richie took to Twitter to gush about the duet (and Cota's dance moves).

"Great message with this song @wadecota & @lovelytheband are performing together. It’s ok to not be ok. There will be people out there to help you put the broken pieces back together," Richie wrote.

"Dear @lovelytheband, thank you for helping @wadecota come out of his shell even more because those were some dance moves I’ve never seen," Perry exclaimed. "What a beautiful bond y’all created before our very ears and eyes."

The indie-rockers were be in good company this week, with artists like Julia Michaels, Jason Mraz, Brett Young, Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, Cynthia Erivo, Lukas Graham, Ben Harper, Elle King, Chris Isaak, and Shaggy also participating.

lovelytheband recently embarked on their finding it hard to smile tour. The 31-date tour began in Peoria, Illinois on March 26 and concludes at the Firefly Festival in Dover, Delaware on June 21. Along the way, the three-piece will traverse the country, making stops in most major cities in the United States and Canada, and performing at a few festivals along the way, including BottleRock and Hangout Fest.
