Pink is sharing some intimate details about her marriage with husband Carey Hart.
On Thursday (April 25), the singer-songwriter spoke with Carson Daly on Today about the secret to her thriving marriage with the former motorcycle racer, whom she married in 2006 after their five-year on-and-off-relationship — and it has everything to do with therapy and making mental health a priority.
"Carey and I have been in couple's counseling almost our entire 17 years we've been together. It's the only reason we're still together," the "Love Me Anyway" musician told Daly. "He speaks Polish, I speak Italian and she [our therapist] speaks both. We do not speak the same language."
"We come from broken families and we had no model of how are we supposed to keep this family together and live this crazy life? And there's no model. There's no book that says, 'Here's how to do this.' So we go to counseling and it works," she added.
The singer was also candid about her sentiments on being transparent about mental health struggles, and believes "talking about it is the most important thing." And as a mother of two children — Willow, 7, and Jameson, 2 — the "Hustle" artist feels it's more vital now than ever to be aware of how youth are struggling with these issues today. "Like for us, for my generation, I feel like it was depression and suicide," she expressed. "And suicide is super prevalent still, but now it's like it comes from a place of anxiety. And I get that. I fully understand that."
Following her latest sit-down, Pink released her brand-new studio album, Hurts 2B Human, on Friday (April 26).
