Ciara flaunts her flaws on her long-awaited seventh studio album.
On Friday (May 10), the R&B songbird unveiled her latest LP, Beauty Marks, a project comprised of hedonistic harmonies ("I Love Myself" feat. Macklemore), sensual serenades ("Thinkin Bout You," "Greatest Love"), and foot-stomping jams ("Level Up," "Set") only C-I-A-R-A can deliver. With Beauty Marks, the 33-year-old recording artist reinvents the standard of beauty by drawing back the mask of superficial satisfaction with a collection of bops that sing the song of the beautifully blemished.
Beauty Marks is Ciara's first full-length to follow 2015's Jackie, and it's a sweet treat for any longtime listeners who have been yearning for the Princess of Crunk-&-B's homecoming to her Goodies and Evolution eras. Not to mention, CiCi's teamed up some incredible names on the record, from Kelly Rowland's appearance on the swagged out "Girl Gang" to Nigerian producer-musician Tekno for "Freak Me."
Ahead of its release, Ciara reflected on the album when she stopped by On Air With Ryan Seacrest this week.
“I’m so proud of this album, it reminds me of when I made my first album Goodies,” she told Seacrest. “I was this little girl … I had no inhibitions. I was just free and lost and I let myself go in the process … and that’s the same way I was with making this album and it felt good."
