June 6, 2019 will mark the 75th anniversary of the Allied invasion of the beaches of Normandy, France during World War II...better known as D-Day!

On this edition of Spectrum, Kevin Matthews is joined by Joe Yukna, co-founder of the Cape Cod Military Museum to discuss the D-Day Invasion...and its ties to Cape Cod!

During the show, Joe talks about the many ways that Cape Cod played a part in the training of military personnel for the D-Day landings...including some truths that are just now coming to light...

"There was a secret gas (gasoline) pipeline that ran from Mashpee to Martha's Vineyard to practice the idea of pumping gas from England to France (during the D-Day operation.)" - Joe Yukna, co-founder of the Cape Cod Military Museum

Joe will be hosting a lecture about D-Day and its ties to the Cape on Saturday, June 1st at 3:00 p.m. at the Jonathan Bourne Historical Society Building on 30 Keene St. in Bourne.
