Kate Middleton and Prince William visited Meghan Markle and Prince Harry at their Frogmore Cottage home on Tuesday (May 14). The visit, of course, was quite the special occasion: the Cambridges got to meet their nephew Archie Mountbatten-Windsor for the first time ever. According to a few sources close to the two royal couples, baby Archie's arrival has helped heal the long-rumored rift between them .
Though Meghan and Kate were initially rumored to be the ones at odds with each other - the fall out was reportedly between their husbands - they're actually grown quite close over the course of Meghan's pregnancy. "Meghan and Kate will be spending a lot more time together," a source told Us Weekly. "Now that they’re bonding over motherhood, they’ve become closer than ever."
Another royal insider opened up about how Archie's arrival has helped heal any bad blood between the princes, as well. “William and Harry will want their children to know their cousins and do things together, so they will work harder at their relationship,” the source revealed to People. “The brothers will have a different kind of relationship and move on.”
Vanity Fair's royal reporter, Katie Nicholl, has also confirmed this report, saying Harry, Meghan, Kate, and William all want their kids to "grow up to be quite close." Nicholl adds that Meghan and Harry's move out of London has also helped ease tensions between the two couples. "Things have been a lot better since Harry and Meghan moved out of KP, it has given them all some space," a source said.
Archie's cousins, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, have not yet met the newest addition to the family. Fingers crossed when they all get together some adorable photos are taken to share with the world. How cute would that be?
