JAPAN-US-DIPLOMACY

The President is optimistic about a new trade deal between the United States and Japan. At a press conference in Tokyo today, Trump said he was working on a new bilateral agreement which is fair and reciprocal. The new deal was initiated after withdrawing from the twelve-nation Trans Pacific Partnership. The President said he hoped to fix a "trade imbalance" and "remove barriers to U.S. exports" after years of Japan having a"substantial edge" on American trade.
