Katy Perry is releasing new music this week!
The singer-songwriter took to Instagram on Tuesday (May 28) to announce her latest single, "Never Really Over." Perry posted the cover artwork for her new record, dropping this Friday (May 31), which shows the musician glistening in the sunlight wearing a bright orange outfit and her blonde hair blowing in the wind.
The upcoming single will be Perry's third music project release after appearing on a few previously released collaborations earlier this year, including Zedd for "365" and Daddy Yankee for "Con Calma (Remix)." However, "Never Really Over" celebrates her first solo cut of 2019 — and quite possibly the dawn of her sixth studio album.
While we have high hopes for another LP, Perry alluded in an October 2018 interview she might be taking a break on getting back into the studio. “I feel like I’ve done a lot. I feel like I’ve rung the bell of being a pop star very loudly, and I’m very grateful for that," she told Footwear News at the time. “I’ve been on the road for like 10 years, so I’m just going to chill."
The songstress' last full-length, Witness, released in June 2017. The effort featured a handful of hits like "Swish Swish," "Chained to the Rhythm," and "Bon Appétit."
