Restaurant Chains Applebee's And IHOP To Close Over 100 Stores

IHOP is changing it's name...again.

Just last year, IHOP (International House of Pancakes) announced its plans to change names to IHOB (International House of Burgers). This announcement was unsurprisingly met with a lot of virtual eye rolls and trolling on social media. The announcement was eventually revealed to be a publicity stunt, which resulted in more social media backlash. The stunt, though, did actually largely increase burger sales for the restaurant chain. As a result, it looks like they're giving the whole name change thing another try.

IHOP released a teaser video on Twitter hinting that another name change is coming. The quick six-second video showed the 'b' flipping back to a 'p,' though it's unclear if the 'p' is still going to stand for 'pancakes.' The video was captioned: "what could the P be?"

IHOP followed up with another, longer social media teaser on Tuesday (May 28). "Last year, the Internet had a lot to say about IHOb. Well, we heard you. Stay tuned for June 3," the caption reads.

International House of Pasta? Pizza? Pan fried noodles? The 'P' options are endless. What do you think the new IHOP is going to stand for? We'll just have to wait until June 3 to find out.
