"Game Of Thrones" Season 8 Premiere

Kit Harington checking himself into a mental health facility in May to work on some "personal issues" he was struggling with. Though Kit hasn't publicly addressed his treatment yet, his rep did confirm the news. Now, a source close to the Game of Thrones actor is assuring everyone that Kit is making great strides and has a positive outlook on his situation.

“There is no stigma in going to rehab, and he will come out in much better shape,” an insider told People. “He seems to have the right attitude on self-improvement and positive growth.”

The source also added that the 32-year-old "has been overstressed for a long time and knows he needs help to temper some of his demons." Kit has been open about his struggle with sudden fame in the past. His stay in the wellness facility aims to help him cope with some of the side effects of that fame.

“He loves his work, and Game of Thrones has transformed his life and career. To see that come to a climax would be tough for anyone,” the insider continued.

This isn't the first time a source close to Kit spoke about his struggle with his overwhelming rise to global fame. “The role and especially the level of fame he was thrust into was a lot for someone so young and just out of drama school,” the other source also told People. “He took it very seriously, but it was extremely stressful. Ultimately, now that he has that break and has said goodbye to Jon Snow, he needed help to figure things out and be himself — to just be Kit.”

It's so great to hear Kit is doing well. We're wishing him all the best!
