Joe Jonas' Parents Found Out About His Vegas Wedding Online

When Joe Jonas said Diplo ruined his Vegas wedding to Sophie Turner, he said it in a joking tone. But now we're wondering if he might've been a little more serious than he was letting on.

During a recent interview, the 29-year-old admitted that his parents found out about his nuptials the same way we all did: via the Internet. "They did find out online," he said. "Well, in my mind, that was the legal portion of the marriage. So I was thinking, like, 'Look, this is not the most important day.' There’s an important day, I mean, I’ll keep private, but ahead of us. So we were, like, this is just whoever’s in town."

He also divulged that he had to smooth things over after Kevin Jonas Sr. and Denise Miller-Jonas were notified about the big news from staff members at their restaurant Nellie's Southern Kitchen.

"They have an amazing restaurant in North Carolina and I think, like, a couple of their staff walked up and were, like, 'Congratulations! I saw.' And then they had to find out," Joe confessed. "So I was doing a lot of, like, apologizing and 'Hey, you guys want to come out to L.A.? I got you four spas at the Four Seasons.'"

Though Joe's parents didn't get a heads up about the May wedding, they are well aware that their son and his bride are planning a more formal event. Though they haven't revealed a specific date or location, their official wedding is thought to be taking place in France this summer.
