While some of the biggest names in country descended on Nashville this weekend for CMA Fest, Carrie Underwood decided to give her Friday night (June 7) headlining set a little bit of rock n' roll. Midway through her performance, the country star brought out the legendary Joan Jett, and together they sang a medley of some of the rock star's most classic hits, including “Bad Reputation,” “I Hate Myself for Loving You,” “Crimson and Clover,” “Fresh Start” and “I Love Rock & Roll.”
During the performance, Jett looked stoic is ever while Underwood let out her inner rocker, belting out the lyrics and even partaking in a headbang or two.
After the show, Underwood gushed about the experience via Instagram. "Dreams come true at #CMAFest!" she wrote alongside a collection of photos from the night. "This was mine. Just to be in the same room as @joanjettis really cool...to share the stage with her is indescribable! She truly is a legend and is probably the coolest person I have ever met. I was so proud to show her how amazing our CMA Fest crowd is! What a night!"
