Brent Williams found guilty of murder in Erin Mulcahy's death

A dramatic trial, stemming from the July 2017 death of Erin Mulcahy, came to a conclusion today in Auglaize County Common Pleas Court.

Visiting Judge Mark O'Connor found Brent Williams, 46, of Waynesfield guilty of murder.

The trial took a dramatic turn last Thursday when Williams, at the last minute, refused to accept a plea agreement that would have capped his prison time at 5 years.

Judge O'Connor, bound by statute, sentenced Williams to 15 years to life in prison.

An appeal is expected.
