Shooting Reported At Championship Parade for Toronto Raptors

Update: 4 people have reportedly been shot. None of the injuries are life threatening. Three people have been arrested and two firearms have been recovered.

At least two people have been shot at the Toronto Raptor's championship parade celebrating their 2019 NBA title, authorities said on Twitter.

"Reports of woman shot," Toronto police tweeted Monday afternoon. "People running from area. Police/EMS are on scene."

Toronto Star sports columnist, Bruce Arthur, said on Twitter that the gunshots fired at the parade were located toward the back, south east corner of Nathan Phillips Square. Toronto Police confirmed the shooting saying police and emergency medical services were on the scene.

At least two people were shot, according to an update from the Toronto Police. The victims were "seriously injured" but their injuries were not life-threatening, authorities said. Two suspects were taken into custody and police recovered two firearms at the scene.

Video from the scene showed hundreds of people running away from the shots near Nathan Phillips Square.

Up to two million people were expected at the championship parade in Toronto on Monday, authorities said.

The Raptors defeated the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Championship series, 4-2, becoming the first team not based in the United States to capture an NBA title. It's also Toronto's first major sports title since the Blue Jays won the World Series in 1993.
