Tiki Bar Shooting Suspect Still At Large

PALM SPRINGS (CNS) - Police today released photos of a man suspected of shooting two people at a Palm Springs tiki-themed gay bar in March and asked for the public's help in finding him.

The shooting occurred about 1:30 a.m. on March 24 at Toucans Tiki Lounge, 2100 N. Palm Canyon Drive.

When officers arrived, they found two men with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and transported the victims to a local hospital.

``The preliminary investigation revealed there was a fight inside the location that eventually led outside,'' according to a Palm Springs police statement. ``At that point, a shooting occurred near the parking lot.''

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-9-inch Hispanic man between 21 and 25 years old and weighing 140 to 150 pounds, with a tattoo on the left side of his neck and a thin mustache.

He was clad in all black clothing -- a sweatshirt, sweatpants and hat - - when last seen.
