Child's Play Promotional VHS Ad

I am obsessed with promotional videos from yesterday. Old TV ads, old movie previews, all great! I particularly love old promos for VHS tapes. The studio would send an ad to Blockbuster or whatever video rental store you favored. It would encourage the store to buy a ton of copies of the movie, as if a video store needed to be talked into buying copies of The Terminator or Child's Play. They were successful films. Do you really have to talk a store into buying copies to rent?

Check out this video that Chucky, the killer doll from Child's Play, sent to video stores in the late 80s. Yes, a VHS copy cost $90 for a video store back then. I know the video is blurry, but you can make out the important things. It's nostalgic, funny, irreverent, and I was never supposed to see it. Watch and enjoy!
