According to 23ABC, some witness say they saw the fire start with a semi-truck traveling on the highway, but CHP officers have no reports of big rig fires in the area.
Officials say the fire has caused about $500,000 in damages, so far. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.
In statement CarMax said:
“At CarMax, the safety of our associates and customers is our top priority. We have evacuated and closed our Bakersfield store for their safety. We’re grateful for local emergency teams who have responded to this event. We continue to assess the damage.”
You might say that CarMax is having a “fire sale”
