Tom DeLonge may no longer be a member of blink-182, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have fond memories. During a recent episode of Rolling Stone's webseries, "The First Time," the Angels & Airwaves frontman recalled everything from his first concert to the first time he heard himself on the radio. When asked about the first song he wrote for blink, the guitarist delved into a great story about the band's humble beginnings.
“The first time I wrote a blink-182 song, it actually wasn’t a song as much as it was a riff," he explained. "The riff got used later as a song, but Mark Hoppus came to my house to meet me. He brought his bass guitar and brought it into my bedroom, which was in the garage. He plugged it in, and I said ‘play along with this riff,’ and I played this little guitar riff that very much sounded like what early blink sounds like, which was like nursery rhymes on crystal meth or something. I remember, right when he started playing I was like, ‘This is good. This is really good.'"
"I thought we were great, but I bet no one else would’ve that if they heard what we were playing,” he added with a smirk. He also told a hilarious tale about getting naked onstage where Mark escorted a drunk guy offstage, while completely nude.

Blink kicked off their summer tour over the weekend, where they're celebrating the 20th anniversary of Enema of the State. Before jumping into "Aliens Exist", Mark took a minute to dedicate the song to Tom.
