You know Celine Dion. She is a true queen with a uniquely gorgeous voice responsible for some absolute bops. And she's also the voice behind one of the most epic songs of all time: "My Heart Will Go On" from the 1997 classic Titanic, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.
Let's rewind a bit, shall we? In the movie, Kate's character Rose is gifted a gorgeous heart-shaped 56 carat blue diamond originally owned by Louis XVI, by her fiancé Cal Hockley (played by Billy Zane). It was called "The Heart of the Ocean" and obviously very expensive. Cal surprises Rose with the jewel while in their super fancy room aboard the ship.
If you watched the movie, you already know that by the end, after she is rescued from the sunken Titanic, Rose finds the necklace in her coat that her fiancé puts on her in the midst of trying to get on a lifeboat to safety. The necklace is then presumed lost forever, until an 80-something year old Rose years later pulls it out of her pocket, and DROPS IT BACK IN THE OCEAN.
Now, that we've taken that glorious trip down memory lane, it is Paris' Haute Couture Fashion Week and Celine "My Heart Will Go On" Dion was spotted out in the City of Lights WEARING the Heart of the Ocean necklace!
Me and my 1997 self are both screaming. An ICONIC look:
I have SO many questions!! Did she fetch it out of the Atlantic ocean somehow? Did James Cameron dig it up and send it to her? Does Billy Zane know? Does Kate Winslet know? How long has she had this magnificent piece of jewelry?!
QUEEN. OF. MY. HEART (of the ocean).
Seriously, I never knew I needed this look until now, and I don't know what we did to deserve this, but THANK YOU, CELINE!
