Syracuse Police Detective Attacked At City Pool

Syracuse, N.Y. - Yesterday around 5 o'clock, employees at Burnet Park Pool asked for some help from Syracuse Detective Duane Rood.

They wanted an unruly kid removed.

As Rood was attempting to do so the kid punch Rood in the face casuign Rood to fall to the ground. The father of the kid, Daniel Fontanez also got involved. While engaged in the fight with the kid and Fontanez, Det. Rood was also struck by many other people at the pool.

Other police showed up and arrested Fontanez, the kid ran away, Detective Rood received medical treatment, no word on the extent of his injuries.
