'The Umbrella Academy' Snags Two Emmy Nominations
By Katrina Nattress
July 17, 2019
When Gerard Way's comic book series The Umbrella Academy was adapted into a television show with Netflix, there was no way for the former My Chemical Romance frontman to know how the series would be received. How was he to know it would quickly get renewed for a second season? Or that its first season would be nominated for two Emmys?
But here we are, and the show is celebrating the honor of getting nods in the categories of Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Contemporary Program (One Hour Or More) and Outstanding Special Visual Effects. The Umbrella Academy's official Twitter reacted to the news with a very fitting meme.
