Three teenage girls have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the brutal assault of a 15-year-old girl with special needs. The girls, ages 13, 14 and 15, were charged with aggravated battery and mob action.

Shocking cell phone video showed a group of five girls and one boy repeatedly punching the girl while she pleaded for them to stop. She wandered off after the attack and was not heard from for nearly a week.

“One of her friends hit her in the face, striking her in the head, that left lacerations on her forehead,” Stringer Harris, who is a friend of the family, said. “Another friend attacked her brutally and beat her, and another gentleman was there as well.”

Her family reported her missing after five days. Officials are unsure why it took her family so long to file a missing person report. The girl was found sitting on a bus the same day she was reported missing and was reunited with her family. She was taken to the hospital and treated for her injuries.

Authorities believe the teen may have been sexually assaulted as well and are continuing to investigate what happened.

A family friend says that the girl was attacked because she refused to perform oral sex on the male in the group and threatened to call the police.
