Why Miley Cyrus Says There's 'No Way' She'll Perform At The 2019 MTV VMAs

Don't expect to see Miley Cyrus perform at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards after receiving no nominations for her videos: "Nothing Breaks like a Heart," her mega-collab with Mark Ronson, or her recently released "Mother's Daughter."

Despite her controversial history with the MTV staple, the 26-year-old, as well as her fans, were not happy that her videos was snubbed of nominations. "Guess I'm not watching the VMAs this year... unless Miley performs," one fan wrote, to which Cyrus responded with "No f**king way" alongside a black heart. Meanwhile, in a separate post, Cyrus agreed with the sentiment of behind another fan's argument. "They care more about a f**king green screen than a message to the world. Nominate anyone but at least do not use the image of Miley to promote their damn prizes @vmas and #SheIsComing #Peace," the user captioned a photo of her. Cyrus kept it short and sweet in the comment section, replying, "Exactly."

While Cyrus won't be in attendance of this year's ceremony, Ariana Grande, one of the evening's biggest nominees alongside Taylor Swift, won't be there either because of a conflicting tour date. Among the other snubs include Madonna, Post Malone and Katy Perry. Cyrus might not be at the VMAs, but you can see her perform at this year's iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas in September alongside a lineup of superstar artists. Then, on October 2nd and 3rd, relive all of the epic performances from the weekend during a televised special on The CW Network at 8pm ET/PT. And leading up to the official television special, The CW will also air an hour-long Best Of Special on Sunday, September 29th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
