Instagram Influencer Found Dead In Suitcase In Russian Apartment

24-year-old Instagram influencer Ekaterina Karaglanova was been found dead in a suitcase on Friday. After several days passed without hearing from her, Ekaterina's worried family asked her landlord to allow them access into the apartment she rented in Moscow. There, they discovered the suitcase containing her body. While they called an ambulance, she was already deceased and her throat had been slit.
Police suspect that jealousy may have played a role in Ekaterina's death. She recently began a new relationship and was planning to go to The Netherlands. It was as the trip approached that her family stopped hearing from her. CCTV footage shows that one of Ekaterina's ex's briefly visited her in the days around her disappearance.
According to Russian newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets, no weapons were found at the scene nor was there any evidence of a struggle.
Ekaterina had 85,000 followers who enjoyed the photos she posted of trips to European locations, as well as shots of Audrey Hepburn. She also kept a travel blog that thousands of people subscribed to. Additionally, Ekaterina had a residency at a Russian medical school and was a practicing dermatologist.
Police are continuing their investigation.
