It's been a crazy few months (to say the least) for Jordyn Woods. However, in a new interview for the September issue of Cosmopolitan UK, the 21-year-old cover girl, and former bestie of Kylie Jenner, finally opened up about the backlash she's faced since she admittedly shared a kiss with Tristan Thompson, boyfriend, at the time, of Khloe Kardashian, earlier this year.
“I didn’t know how to feel. I was like, ‘That didn’t just happen.’ I [told him] ‘I need to go.' I was leaving already so I walked out immediately. I got in the car. I was in shock," Jordyn recalled of the moments after Tristan allegedly initiated a goodbye kiss to her at a party.
"I just need[ed] some time by myself to try to understand what [was] happening, why it [was] happening, and how am I going to react to this internally," she added. "How can I make things right with myself, with God and with my relationships? It took some time off in order for me to have a level head on how I should react."
While the model and entrepreneur has made a living off of social media, the Internet was the first to turn on her, following news of her kiss with the basketball player. "It becomes addictive to look on the internet, to look at your name. When I would look at my name and see all of the things that people were saying, it became like a tumor. It became cancerous to me," Jordyn admitted. "I don’t believe in clapping back, or reacting out of emotion. I could have handled this a million different ways, but I just went with what felt the most natural to me. Would I ever have wanted this to happen? Never. But sh*t happens. And in the end, I never want to see anyone hurt; I would hate to be the reason for anyone’s pain. We all have to go to sleep with ourselves at night."
"The Internet feels so entitled to have opinions about everything, but a lot of it is bullshit. These are real people, with real lives," she continued. "People are so detached that they don’t feel empathy, they don’t feel bad, they don’t realize that the one message that you sent laughing at someone could be the message that pushes that person off the ledge."
Despite all the backlash, in the months since the cheating scandal, Jordyn's social media following has grown, she's launched multiple business ventures, and she's even landed roles in movies and shows. However, when asked, "how does it feel to be navigating all of this – good and bad – without her best friend Kylie by her side?" Jordyn noted that it's been different, but she said she still holds hope that they will one day be able to move forward in their friendship. "I love her. That’s my homie. I hope everything falls into place and that we can all grow and build our relationships with our family and God and come back together one day and be stronger and happier," she shared.
