Lauv And Anne-Marie Lament Loneliness In New Single: Listen

By Katrina Nattress

We all get a little lonely sometimes, and for his latest single Lauv decided to sing about it (someone had to). Joined by Anne-Marie, the producer-turned-pop-star laments his loneliness in his new song, aptly titled "F**k, I'm Lonely." Though the chorus includes lines like "Come hold me come hold me come hold me/ It’s been me myself and why/ Did you go did you go" the 24-year-old admits that the song actually isn't that deep.

"Originally, it started out as something I was working on while I was on tour. I made the beat on my laptop in an airport in an hour!" he explained to i-D when asked how the song came about. "Later, when I got home, I was working on new tracks for my album. At the time I was having a conversation with my friends and the line 'F**k, I’m lonely' came out of nowhere. I was like, 'Yo, we’ve got to make that a song' – and so we did! The funny thing about it is that it's not about being on the road or anything. It’s about missing someone you used to hook up with. It’s by far my least deep and mysterious song."

Lauv is hitting the road this fall on his ~how i'm feeling~ tour. Check out a full list of dates here and listen to "F**k, I'm Lonely" below.
