Time to break out the love ferns: How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is getting the reboot treatment. Though it's been 16 years since the beloved movie, starring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey, was released, there's still a lot of love for the hilarious, heartwarming rom-com. This time, though, it isn't coming back as another movie, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is being reworked into a television show. Here's everything you need to know.

The new How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days will be a series on the short form streaming service Quibi, though it's not yet clear how many episodes or seasons the show will be. One thing we know for sure, though, is that this reboot will stick to Quibi's format and will be made to watch on your phones. The reboot will be written by comedian Guy Branum, whose resume is pretty stacked. He's written for hit shows like The Mindy Project, Billy on the Street and Awkward. As a big fan of romantic comedies himself, Branum might be more excited for the reboot than longtime fans of the original film.

"We were all certain you could not make a good romantic comedy anymore because print media is dead and RomCom ladies have to work at magazines, but against the tides of history, Quibi & Paramount have agreed to let me re-writeHow To Lose A Guy In 10 Days," he wrote in his announcement on Twitter.

Though Branum joked about print media being dead, it seems like the plot of the series will stick pretty close to that of the original film's. Here's the official description of the project:

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days follows a glib young online columnist and an oversexed advertising executive who both need to prove, once and for all, they’re capable of being monogamous. They soon discover, however, keeping a relationship is harder than Andie Anderson made it look!

Are you excited for the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days reboot? Fingers crossed they finally make that Sweet Home Alabama sequel, too. Maybe Branum and Quibi will take the reigns on that one, as well.
