When Chance The Rapper released The Big Day last week, it was full of impressive features; however, the one that surprised us the most was "Do You Remember," a collaboration with Death Cab For Cutie.

During their set at Lollapalooza on Friday (August 2), the indie rockers took that surprise a step further by bringing Chano out to perform the song. “This is our first time ever performing this song and I think this might be a moment in history,” the Chicago native told his hometown crowd before they dove into the music. On Saturday (August 3) the band took to Instagram to show fans photos of their rehearsal with Chance, praising him for being "a great guy."

Upon the album's release, Death Cab shared a lengthy message on Instagram explaining how the collaboration came to be.

"It all started with a, well, chance encounter three years ago backstage at Bonnaroo," the band wrote alongside photos of them with the rapper. "Turns out that we and @chancetherapper had a bit of a mutual admiration society going on, and we had a very fun hang in our dressing room, in which he revealed a straight-up impressive familiarity with some pretty deep Death Cab catalog cuts, and during which the possibility of a collaboration was briefly mentioned."

"Fast forward to 2019, and we were truly surprised and honored when Chance got back in touch and asked us to be part of a song called 'Do You Remember', which appears on his debut record, THE BIG DAY, which is out worldwide as of right now. We couldn't be more thrilled," the caption continues. "Thank you, Chance, and congratulations on your big day!"
