Everybody remain calm: Dylan Sprouse is making his return to the big screen.
The 27-year-old has taken a long break from acting over the past few years, choosing to focus on his Brooklyn meadery instead. Dylan will make his highly anticipated return to acting in the equally highly anticipated follow up to 2018's hit movie After. For those unfamiliar with the After series, the movies are based on a book series of the same name. Sprouse will play Trevor in After We Collided.
The After series originally started as a viral One Direction fan fiction story on popular e-publishing platform Wattpad. Eventually the stories were traditionally published as novels and the 1D-inspired characters were reworked as original characters by author Anna Todd. The updated series follows a naive college student named Tessa, who falls for a moody and controlling fellows student named Hardin. A fictionalized version of Harry Styles was the original inspiration for Hardin.
Sprouse' character, known as 'f*****g Trevor by fans, plays a new co-worker and potential love interest of Tessa's in After We Collided. Sprouse's casting was announced the film's Instagram account. The actor filmed a short selfie video of himself, letting fans know he's honored to be a part of the popular franchise.
Fans of the books, as well as the first movie adaptation, were thrilled with the casting choice. They shared their excitement in the comments section of the big Instagram reveal. "This is the best news i’ve heard all day and i still can’t stop talking about it," one fan wrote. "After We Collided era will be LIT," another chimed in. "Omg this is going to be amazing," a third fan wrote.
Are you a fan of the After series? If so, what do you think of Dylan playing Trevor?
