It's over for Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth.

The couple has called it quits less than a year after tying the knot, People reports.

"Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time," a rep for the 26-year-old singer told the outlet in a statement. "Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy."

News of the split came just before photos surfaced of Miley kissing Brody Jenner's ex-wife, Kaitlynn Carter, during the ladies' group vacation in Lake Como, Italy. Kaitlyn and Brody announced their own separation earlier this month after tying the knot in Bail in June 2018. However, it was recently revealed that their marriage was never made legal.

Interestingly enough, Kaitlynn has been sharing tons of photos from their Italian vacation, and in one photo with Miley, she captioned the picture, "rock the boat, don’t rock the boat baby ⚓️," and her ex Brody commented, "Hot girl summer 🔥."

Ahead of Miley and Liam's split announcement, Miley sparked divorce rumors when she posted an Instagram photo of herself in Italy on Saturday (August 10), in which she was not wearing her wedding ring.

As for those pictures where Miley and Kaitlynn are kissing poolside, well you can check those out HERE.

As fans know, Miley and Liam met in 2009 on the set of Nicholas Sparks' film The Last Song. Despite having an on-and-off-again relationship, the couple got engaged in 2012. However, they called it off a year later, before reconciling in 2015. The couple then got married in a quiet ceremony at their Tennessee home in December 2018.

Earlier this month, Miley opened up to Elle for its August issue about how she doesn't "fit into a stereotypical wife role."

"I think it’s very confusing to people that I’m married. But my relationship is unique" she explained. "I don’t know that I would ever publicly allow people in there because it’s so complex, and modern, and new that I don’t think we’re in a place where people would get it."

"I mean, do people really think that I’m at home in a f**king apron cooking dinner? I’m in a hetero relationship, but I still am very sexually attracted to women," she said. "People become vegetarian for health reasons, but bacon is still f**king good, and I know that. I made a partner decision. This is the person I feel has my back the most. I definitely don’t fit into a stereotypical wife role. I don’t even like that word."
