Taylor Swift was living her best life this weekend.
How do pop divas celebrate bagging 10 VMA nods? Hit up a party, duh β and what better way to soundtrack the occasion than with Swift's new album, Lover. Well, per video footage shared on social media this Sunday morning (August 11), that's exactly what Tay did when attended a house party, where was recorded dancing and singing along to her cool-off record "You Need to Calm Down."
In the clip, shared to Instagram by RuPaul's Drag Race star A'keria Chanel Davenport, the 29-year-old, who appears to be a little under the influence, flips her hair, makes weird faces, and mimes the song's lyrics while grooving with party guests like Laverne Cox. The Internet took hold, and "Drunk Taylor" was born.
See the videos and the memes it spawned below.

As you know, Swift and Ariana Grande tied as frontrunners at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards, with each vying for trophies for Video of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Video. Additionally, the "Archer" musician has been billed to give a "world premiere performance" at the Prudential Center-based show in Newark, New Jersey, on August 26 with her first VMA showcase in four years. If you can recall, Swift's last VMA stage performance was when she crashed Nicki Minaj's set for a collaborative medley in
2015. That aside, the presentation will also mark the "ME!" superstar's first major televised performance following her seventh studio album, which arrives August 23. Not to mention, Swift recently revealed her next single from Lover drops on Friday (August 16) β so stay tuned!
The 2019 MTV VMAs air live at 8 PM ET. See the full list of nominations here.
