Alabama 50th Anniversary Tour - New Orleans, Louisiana

Alabama will be cancelling more shows due to Randy Owen’s ongoing health issues.

Per a statement via Instagram from their management company, Ontourage Management, the band have been forced to withdraw from two gigs this weekend. On Thursday (August 15), it was announced that the group’s Friday and Saturday sets would be scrapped as the lead vocalist's continued health treatments would make him unable to perform, per doctor's orders.

“The Group Alabama regrets that they will not be appearing in Lewisburg, WV, this Friday. Randy Owen, the lead singer is being treated for cluster migraines and vertigo and is under Doctor’s orders not to perform,” reads Ontourage’s statement from earlier this week. “The group was to appear in Lewisburg, WV, at the State Fair of West Virginia on August 16, and PNC Bank Arena in Holmdel, NJ on Saturday, August 17.”

“The band Alabama was looking forward to performing for the fans on the 50th Anniversary Tour and apologize for the inconvenience,” the statement concludes.

The two canceled performances are just the latest in a string of concert dates Alabama have called off from their 50th Anniversary Tour, which kicked off in January. Last month alone, Owen’s health struggles caused the band to pull out of four dates from their jaunt — including two in Canada and others in Tennessee and Georgia — which wraps this November.

Previous reports from Taste of Country indicate Owen's health complications date back to nearly a decade ago. In 2010, the crooner had been diagnosed with prostate cancer before overcoming the disease with a successful treatment regimen.
