Three 6 Mafia is plotting their comeback.
On Saturday (August 7), Juicy J announced he and DJ Paul would be joining forces once again with a reunion tour. Juicy broke the news on Instagram with a poster promoting the jaunt as "The Return Of Three 6 Mafia," much to the excitement of fans who have been kept in limbo on whether the originators of the Memphis Slap would rejoin.
According to the advert, the Three 6 Mafia reunion tour has only one destination set at the Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi, slated for October 12, with tickets expected to go on-sale as soon as next Friday (August 23). Additionally, the trek will include a lineup of special guests from the Hypnotized Minds squad including Crunchy Black, Project Pat, Gangsta Boo, La Chat and Lil Wyte, as well as DMX and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony rounding out the roster as supporting acts.
In an August 2018 interview with Complex, Paul, who was reportedly in talks with Juicy about a reunion tour some four months prior, insinuated one of the co-founders had "resigned" from the group.
"Me and him had a conversation maybe four months back,” Paul told the outlet. "What he told me was, ‘I’m done with Three 6 Mafia and I’m just gonna keep moving forward with my solo stuff.’ His solo stuff has been successful, so I wasn’t tripping out. Everyone has seen it coming. Me and him haven’t worked together in years." (Three 6's last full-length, Last 2 Walk, dropped in June 2008.)
However, Juicy's manager Ray refuted those claims. "He’s not resigning from the group,” he responded. “We still planning in the future [to] do some Three 6 Mafia stuff.”
