Trump Tweets Federal Reserve is "Weak"
August 23, 2019
President Trump is calling the Federal Reserve Board "weak" after Chairman Jerome Powell said the global economic outlook has been deteriorating. Earlier today in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Powell promised to take the steps needed to maintain U.S. economic growth, but acknowledged "trade policy uncertainty seems to be playing a role in the global slowdown." Today on Twitter, Trump said it is "incredible" that the Fed can "speak" without knowing or asking what he is doing with the economy. He said his only question is, "who is our bigger enemy, Jay Powel or Chairman Xi."

As usual, the Fed did NOTHING! It is incredible that they can “speak” without knowing or asking what I am doing, which will be announced shortly. We have a very strong dollar and a very weak Fed. I will work “brilliantly” with both, and the U.S. will do great...
