Ever since announcing its new fried chicken sandwich earlier this month Popeyes has seen an insane uptick in business, from ridiculously long lines at restaurants around the country to poultry lovers hitting up multiple locations on a quest to try the new hyped up item. But one person managed to get his hands on a number of the sought after sandwiches, and he's making a business out of it.
Over the weekend, Quavo shared a video on Instagram of him slingin' Popeyes sandwiches out of his car trunk. "I heard y'all boys was looking for them, they sold out everywhere," he said in the clip, displaying a bag full of fried chicken gold. "I got them thangs going for $1,000 a chicken."
The Migos rapper is clearly joking, but he may be onto something. Watch the video below.
The new sandwich is basic but classic, featuring fried chicken, pickles, and mayonnaise on a brioche bun. It's quite similar to Chick-fil-A's iconic chicken sandwich and has started a brand war, with Wendy's hopping in for good measure. Whoever runs Popeyes social media deserves a raise though, they're owning everyone who's trying to come after them. Check out some of their best work below.
