Eddie Money Reveals Stage 4 Esophageal Cancer Diagnosis

Eddie Money says his fate is in "God's hand" after his doctors diagnosed him with stage 4 esophageal cancer.
Money's announced was included in a clip from his AXS TV reality series Real Money, the full episode of which airs Sept. 12.
In the clip, Money says his cancer was discovered after a routine checkup. The disease has spread to his liver and lymph nodes.
The former Brooklyn police officer and '80s pop hitmaker, whose real name is Edward Mahoney, says the news hit him "really, really hard."
Money has maintained a steady touring schedule in recent years. This spring, it was reported that the delayed heart valve surgery in order to make good on several shows over Memorial Day weekend.
The singer then had to cancel his remaining summer tour dates after a bout with pneumonia.
Following the weekend's sad news about his health, Money released a statement on Twitter, clarifying that he isn't making plans to reschedule his tour. He is instead focusing on his health and his family.
"Eddie can't wait to get back on stage and share new music with you!" the statement read. "Thank you all for the love and support, it means the world."
