Kanye Asks Wife Kim If She's Obsessed With Money In Candid Interview

Kanye West might have a career in journalism.

The music icon did not hold back while interviewing his wife Kim Kardashian for the first time ever. Ye brought his A-game as he questioned the business mogul for Vogue Arabia's September issue cover story. The interview was not only candid, but it was also quite in-depth as Ye asked Kim some burning questions — everything from her first impression of him to her thoughts on their future together to their kids' personalities. However, nothing was more savage than Ye's question of whether Kim is obsessed with money.

The couple's money talk began with the "I Love It" rapper first asking his wife if she believes that fame is addictive? "I do agree that fame can be addictive and it took me a long time to recognize how lost you can become when you put too much focus on it," Kim responded. "People often ask me, 'Money or fame?' My focus has always been on success, and with success comes money. I’m at this place now where I am not concerned anymore about fame but if you would have asked me this question 10 years ago, I probably would have said that fame and money were of equal importance. My focus has shifted a lot."

"From fame to money?" Kanye asked as a follow-up.

"Money was always the goal but I was obsessed with fame, like, embarrassingly obsessed," Kim replied. "I have the funniest stories from 15, 20 years ago that I have no shame in sharing because I was younger and it was who I was at the time."

Without missing a beat, Mr. West then asked, "And now you’re obsessed with money?"

"No, no," Kim clarified. "My goals were so much lower than what I have been able to achieve. Now that I have beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of beyond my wildest imagination, I can say without question that the fame isn’t important to me. But I do recognize and appreciate that fame has given me the biggest platform."
