Lil Nas X Eyes World Domination In 'Panini' Video Starring Skai Jackson

Lil Nas X's long-awaited music video for "Panini," his follow-up single to "Old Town Road," lives up to the track's message with a futuristic twist.

On Thursday (September 5), the chart-topper dropped the Mike Diva-directed clip, which sees Disney actress Skai Jackson trying to escape Nas in a futuristic world. Everywhere she goes, she's inundated with his presence as he follows her around the city in-person and via larger-than-life advertisements. It's all an attempt to win her over as a fan, but we won't spoil just how it ends. As per an announcement, Lil Nas X conceptualized the treatment, which was teased during his performance at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards.

Prior to the clip's release, Lil Nas X revealed that the "song about a fan who loves you in the early stages of your career for the cool factor of knowing about something before it becomes mainstream, and that fan feeling like they’ve outgrown you when the rest of the world catches on."

Earlier this week, Lil Nas X's appearance on HBO's The Shop: Uninterrupted gained traction after the star had to explain to a confused Kevin Hart, who has a tense relationship with the LGBTQ community over previous homophobic comments, just why he wanted to come out and fight anti-gay prejudice.
