Tegan and Sara's upcoming album Hey, I'm Just Like You is filled with re-recorded versions of songs they wrote in high school, so it's only fitting that the lyric video for the title track would include throwback footage of the sisters.

On Friday, the sisters shared the new song, along with its nostalgic visuals. “Tegan and I were dirtbags in high school," Sara says of the track. "Stoned on acid, sneaking out, skipping school, lying to our parents. But we were also having the time of our lives. On acid,Tegan seemed like the funniest, coolest person in the universe. All the animosity and fighting melted away, and we were returned to the original joy of our friendship and delivered back into the wonder of our childhood. This is the origin of this song.”

The new track follows lead single "I'll Be Back Someday." Hey, I'm Just Like You is slated for a September 27 release, just three days after Tegan and Sara publish their memoir, High School.

Tegan and Sara are also heading on tour to support the new album, which kicks off on the same day the memoir comes out (September 24). Check out a full list of tour dates here.
