Australia’s version of the global TV sensation The Masked Singer premiered on Channel 10 last night and it seems that the nation is already hooked!
The show took out the number one spot in the programs that aired last night, raking in a whopping 1.162 million viewers and beating out The Block and The Brownlow Medal.
The giant guessing game was also trending on Twitter as people reacted to the incredible performances and took their guesses at the celebrities hiding under each mask.

In case you missed it, last night we saw six masked celebrities compete in a head-to-head battle before one of the mystery performers was unmasked.
We saw The Alien vs The Prawn, The Octopus vs The Robot and The Unicorn vs The Wolf.
In the end, it was The Octopus who was voted out of the competition, forcing them to reveal their real identity.
While our guessing panel thought that Paulini, Lauren Eagle, Courtney Act or even Hugo Weaving could be hiding beneath the eight, pink tentacles, low and behold it was actually Aussie comedian, former Big Brother host, author and yep, talented singer, Gretel Killeen!

Although Gretel’s singing career on the show may have been cut short, she still put on one heck of a performance, giving us a bluesy rendition of 80s hit ‘Fame’.
And we sure as heck will remember her name after that! Check out the performance in the video above!
The Masked Singer Australia continues tonight at 7:30PM on Channel 10!
