Country singer, Canaan Smith is officially going to be a dad! Smith and his wife, Christy, are expecting their first child in November of 2019. To celebrate his announcement, the singer released a new song, "Life Ain't Fair" co-written by Smith himself alongside Corey Crowder and Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard.
The song, a tribute to his wife, thanks God that "life ain't fair" because if it were, "I guarantee that I'd have nothing close to good as you for sure." In addition to the audio, Smith also released a video for the song featuring clips of the the couple together.
Smith recently opened up with People about the moment he found out his wife was pregnant describing it as the "best and most meaningful moment of my life." His wife Christy asked him, "Remember when I told you I had a dream that I was pregnant?" Smith responded, "No. You didn't tell me that." His wife then says, "Yeah, remember, I told you,' to which Smith follows up with another "No, I don't." Before he could even ask why, it hit him and he realized his wife was pregnant.
"I don't know which was better- the news or the happiness on her face," the "Love You Like That" singer adds. "Mine too. That was the best and most meaningful moment of my life."
Although the couple doesn't know the sex of their baby, and won't know until they are in the delivery room, they have already started brainstorming possible baby names. "We both love unique names, so it's been a blast to do this together," Smith says, adding that they are "constantly adding and erasing names."
