Superstore - Season 4

Beloved actress Linda Porter, of Superstore fame, has died. She was 86.

Per a recent statement released by Porter’s rep, Porter passed away after a long fight with cancer on Wednesday (September 25). The performer was best known for her portrayals on such shows like Gilmore Girls, Twin Peaks: The Return, American Horror Story, The and Suite Life on Deck. Her most recent small screen success, however, was as store employee Myrtle on the NBC comedy Superstore, on which she starred in 35 episodes.

“Linda wasn’t just hilarious, she was incredibly sweet, energetic and enthusiastic – working with her brightened everyone’s day,” wrote the show’s executive producers Jonathan Green and Gabe Miller in a statement in light of Porter’s death. “We’re lucky to have been a small part of her long career. The Superstore family won’t be the same without her.”

Green and Miller’s condolences would be among the first in an outpouring of love and memorials shared by Porter’s friends and castmates.

“Here’s hoping the angels don’t call cut right away because your best stuff always came at the end,” costar Ben Feldman tweeted. “We’ll miss you Linda Porter.”

Danny Gura added: “We lost a good one. R.I.P. Linda Porter, who was always smiling and always brightened up the Superstore set. This is a hard one. You will be missed."
