Netflix officially announced Stranger Things will officially return for a fourth season on Monday (September 30). In true Stranger Things fashion, the announcement was made in a super cryptic teaser trailer that will leave fans desperate for more.

The teaser doesn't give much away about the exact plot specifics for the upcoming season, though it does tease a change of scenery. At the end of the short trailer, the words "we're not in Hawkins anymore" pop up on the screen. This change of locale was teased at the end of the third season, as well, with The Beyers family and Eleven moving to a new town. Viewers also got a glimpse a secret facility in Russia where a mystery "American" is being held prisoner. (Fingers crossed it's Hopper!)

Not only will Stranger Things return for a fourth season, the creators of the wildly popular show, known as the Duffer Brothers, signed a new multi-year deal. “The Duffer Brothers have captivated viewers around the world with Stranger Things and we’re thrilled to expand our relationship with them to bring their vivid imaginations to other film and series projects our members will love,” Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer, Netflix, said in a statement. “We can’t wait to see what The Duffer Brothers have in store when they step outside the world of The Upside Down.”

The Duffer Brothers released a statement of their own, as well, sharing in Netflix's excitement about their new deal. “We are absolutely thrilled to continue our relationship with Netflix. Ted Sarandos, Cindy Holland, Brian Wright, and Matt Thunell took a huge chance on us and our show — and forever changed our lives,” the statement reads. “From our first pitch meeting to the release ofStranger Things 3, the entire team at Netflix has been nothing short of sensational, providing us with the kind of support, guidance, and creative freedom we always dreamed about. We can’t wait to tell many more stories together — beginning, of course, with a return trip to Hawkins!”
